Who I am and why I’m here

About me

Let me introduce myself. I’m Morgan and I’ve started Morgan Trachtman Marketing to teach people how to design their digital footprints.

I currently work at the University of North Carolina as the social media manager for the flagship university account. I manage the Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest pages. For 40+ hours a week, I create content, write copy, engage with responses and participate in a robust monitoring process.

Before UNC, I worked for a small economic development marketing group doing all things marketing. I ran the social media accounts, managed the website, wrote content, designed marketing emails, invitations and a slew of other items. This opportunity provided a great experience working with both large and small organizations to market urban and rural areas of North Carolina. A unique challenge!

Prior to that, I was with a full service advertising agency. I interned in the new business department and was then hired as an account coordinator. Working in advertising taught me what a good (and bad) campaign looks like. I worked with clients large and small – Lenovo to the Carolina Ballet – managing numerous projects start to finish. I learned about strategic advertising and how the same tactics can, and should, be applied to clients of all sizes. Having a strategy can go a long way.

All of my experiences have molded me into the marketer I am today. Now, I use my knowledge to help small businesses, nonprofits and entrepreneurs with their digital marketing efforts.

What is digital marketing

“Digital marketing” – what does that mean? It’s connecting with audiences through a digital manner. This can be through social media, websites, emails, blog posts, etc.

Marketing is not rocket science. It’s strategically thinking about what messaging to place, where and when.

Our world is completely digital. In order to share your message and get in front of people, you have to be where your audience is – and that’s attached to a phone, tablet or computer screen. Engagement = awareness.

If you’re ready to enhance your social media presence, let’s connect. I’ll be your partner and teacher. We’ll talk through what has worked and what hasn’t, and figure out why. Then we’ll work together to craft goals, strategies and tactics. We’ll start small, but accomplish big.

Shoot me an email to connect today.
