University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Social Media

*Social Media Management

From 2019-2021, I managed the flagship UNC-Chapel Hill social media accounts in the University Communications department.

This included writing copy, creating content, social media monitoring and engaging with audiences. Additionally, I managed the student ambassador program of 20 selected students who help produce content for Carolina's social media platforms.

In my two years managing the platforms, I helped:

  • Create over 6,700 posts across Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, which resulted in nearly 70 million impressions.

  • Grow the accounts by 95,000+ followers.

  • Produce more than 3.3 millions forms of engagement.

  • Drove nearly 290,000 sessions from social media to unc.edu.

  • Developed six Instagram augmented reality (AR) filters. This is a feature Carolina, and myself, had yet to explore. I taught myself how to code the filters in the platform Spark AR. The filters have more than 155,000 impressions, 78,000 opens, 29,000 captures, 2,200 shares combined.

Some of my favorite pieces of work

I lead the launch and strategy of Instagram Reels and these are two of my favorite Reels that I made. In the first video, Carolina’s Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz welcomes the Class of 2025 to Carolina on the day that admission decisions were released. The second video celebrates the Class of 2021’s graduation.

UNC-Chapel Hill on Spotify

I lead the launch of Carolina's Spotify channel, which quickly grew to over 500 followers in less than a year.

The playlists were created in collaboration with other campus organizations and through user submissions. Overall, the goal of the account was to connect with Carolina’s target audience of prospective and current students and showcase the vibrancy of campus life.

Voting Campaign

My team and I produced a robust 10-week social media campaign encouraging followers to get out and vote.

The campaign included videos, photos, graphics, giphy stickers and stories.
