Host a giveaway

Giveaways are an amazing way to increase your brand awareness and gain more followers. There’s a reason so many accounts post “follow and tag a friend to enter.” Not only do you gain more followers, who are probably going to forget to unfollow you if they don’t win, by tagging a friend they are also exposing more people to your business. AND by having people tag a friend, they’re creating engagement on your post which keeps bumping you in the algorithm. A win-win.

This article shares helpful tips on how to run an effective Instagram giveaway.

Use your selling space to promote incentives

Offering free shipping? 10% off? BOGO? Great — utilize your “selling space” on your social media profiles to share this information with your audience. By selling space I mean your cover photo, bio and pinned posts. These are spaces at the very top of your social media profiles that anyone who comes to your page will see. Take advantage of these spaces to reiterate key information to viewers.

Share a free downloadable resource

You’ve probably come across some sort of free template or resource that you thought “Oh this is awesome” and the company goes “Yup, but we’d like your email first.” Brands are willing to offer up free and valuable information in exchange for something that’s more valuable to them — your email address.

You can do this too. Maybe you create a gift guide for shopping local in your community. Or you could host a downloadable resource on your website. Or host a short webinar. The key is making it so valuable to your audience that they’re willing to give up something that you want in exchange.

Post customer appreciation content

Once November hits, we’re all told to feel grateful. Show some of that gratitude to your followers and customers. You could post user-generated content (UGC) to give your customers a virtual shout-out. You could also offer exclusive discounts to follows on a particular account. For example, offer 25% for your Instagram followers only. This can also help segment what platforms you’re getting traffic and sales from. Finally, a simple thank you post will go a long way.

Celebrating the holidays on social media shouldn’t be overly complicated. Use this as a fun way to showcase your offerings and engage with your audience. Fill in your content calendar with these upcoming dates:
